Importance of parents aid in children’s evolution

Some parents believe that there is no need organize necessarily children’s development. They say babies don’t need anything special. In some points it’s truth. Children don’t like anything artificial created, especially educational routine.

But let’s recall the story about two feral girls who were brought up by wolves. The Amala and Kamala were teenagers when they were found by people in the Indian forests and they behaved like wolves. They ran on “four legs”, howl and hunter like wolves. They think they were wolves. It’s so called Mowgli Syndrome. A lot of such occurrences have been investigated by researchers and researchers in the fields of psychology and sociology.

Academics were very interested in their “taming” and possibility to study their ability to become normal people.

But experiment failed. The girls were not able to live in the absolutely new conditions. One girl died very soon. The other lived for some years but hasn’t had a very big progress in “becoming a human”. They seemed mentally impaired and have almost irresistible trouble learning a human language. The scientists came to conclusion that it is almost impossible to convert a child who became feral and lived without people at a very young age into a relatively normal human who can feel comfortable living in society.

What can this story hint us?

In spite a strong effect of genes the leading role in the toddler development of a mind has surrounding.
At the very early age we feel the influence of our surrounding. It presses and shapes us. Sometimes we resist, sometimes fail. But from the 0-3 the surrounding has decisive power. That’s why it’s so important to be very attentive and don’t miss this very special age in the life of our toddlers.

From 0 to 3 physical, mental and emotional advance has been forming the base for the whole life. Of course the other periods in the development are also substantial too but we can’t build the second floor when we don’t have basement. Sometimes it takes some decades to overcome the complex formed at that early age. According to the some psychologists most of our behavior patterns are result of the information we got on the early stages of our evolution.

The brain of a child is formed by the age of three years. There are a lot of scientific books that can illustrate that a brain develops differently in different setting. It’s all about neurons extensions called dendrites and axons. Dendrites bring information to the cell body and axons take information away from the cell body. Neurons communicate with each other through an electrochemical process. But in order to have such communications a brain needs to have some stimulation to cause an electrochemical process. It can be anything. A nice colorful picture, good music, mother’s voice or touch, toys, new places, games, toddler stories and poems can be good stimulation for a small but at the same time perfect mind. As a result more and more neurons interact with each other.

Neurons are the oldest cells in the body. The same neurons work for us for the whole life. It means that the best time to train your child’s neurons when their extensions form communication ways. That’s from zero till three (sometimes till six years old). Later it would be harder. It’s still possible but not as quick as it can be between zero to three. If your best desire is to help your child be successful in the future life, remember that it’s never too early to begin educate children under three years old. In fact it’s the best time it can ever be. You need only to know what your child likes best of all. Check out the books of Glenn Doman and many other authors that wrote about early education methods. We are sure you’ll come across a lot of interesting information.Especially when you have parenting preschool toddler.
